Turn visitors into customers ... or at least great prospects
Perhaps you want your visitor to purchase a product online or subscribe to your newsletter. Maybe you want them to contact you for more information or to set up a free consultation. Whatever it is, you want to encourage your visitor to take the action that you are hoping for.
Great calls to action include at least one of the following techniques:
Be specific. Make sure your reader understands exactly what you are asking them to do.
For example: Visit our Products page.
Add urgency. More people will be encouraged to take the action you are hoping for if you create a sense of urgency by using terms like Act Now or Call Today, or limited time offers. You will create the idea that this offer must really be acted on now.
For example: Don’t let another day pass you by. Sign up now and start saving today.
Reinforce. Bring home how the visitor simply must have your product or service by reiterating the benefits one more time.
For example: Call 1-800-565-1234 to find out more about how you can get a good night’s sleep, every night.
Entice. Offer something extra to encourage the reader to take action. It could be a free product or an extra month’s subscription – whatever you choose, make sure it is something that the reader will value.
For example: Act now and you’ll receive two free bonus reports worth over $100.
