“Emily Amos of Word Savvy did a great job of enhancing our web content in a recent, and massive, website design and content overhaul. She always kept our users’ needs front and centre, and made sure the content met and exceeded web writing best practices. Not only is Emily a talented writer, she is also incredibly organized and efficient.”
Re-vamped website – but what to do with all that old content?
Broken links, ancient event listings and outdated press releases. Multiple authors. Unclear ownership. Sound familiar? How about page upon page of no-longer useful, relevant or appropriate information?
When Cancer Care Nova Scotia decided to re-vamp its website, it was no small undertaking. Over the years, hundreds of pages of web content had accumulated, acting as a virtual warehouse for every single piece of content the organization had ever created.
Creating content that meets your users' needs
Word Savvy cut, condensed, reduced and compressed until the web content was clear and concise for its two very distinct user groups. “The job was massive,” explains Christine Smith, Communications Manager at Cancer Care Nova Scotia. “It involved Word Savvy working closely with and interviewing subject matter experts to re-write outdated content and to ensure that the content was web-friendly.”
Since the new site launched, Cancer Care Nova Scotia is enjoying all the positive feedback they’re getting on the new content. “People love that they can now easily find what they came to the site for,” says Smith. “Word Savvy has done an excellent job at ensuring the content is easy to understand – and useful for all our visitors.”
